  • FASO is ideal for selling originals, Prints and non POD products.

    Note: Built-in Print-on-Demand (POD) is currently unavailable for new FASO sites.

    Artful Squarespace supports various POD integrations including items like scarves, mugs, and more.

  • FASO users have access to multiple support options, including live chat, email, phone support, FAQs, webinars, and tutorial videos.

    Artful Squarespace by FASO users receive support from the FASO team for questions related to their site, in addition to the standard Squarespace resources, such as FAQs, tutorials, and user support forums.

  • Yes, FASO provides world-class support for any questions, along with two add-ons: the Kickstart Service, which helps you launch your site, and custom backend work for specific design enhancements.

  • You do get access to our FASO support team for questions, but for help with building your site or design work you can hire an independent Squarespace Designer.

  • There is no universal answer. The best platform depends on your specific needs, goals, and non-negotiables. Artists must assess which platform aligns best with their business model.

  • FASO is best for artists wanting an easy to use, simple setup focused primarily on selling originals and prints with minimal maintenance.

  • Artful Squarespace is ideal for artists seeking more customization and product variety, like courses, memberships or merchandise, and who are willing to manage integrations.

  • Yes, artists often use FASO for selling originals and Artful Squarespace by FASO for workshops and other services. Both sites can be linked and designed to look similar.

  • Squarespace 7.1 is latest version, offering enhanced design flexibility with features like Fluid Engine, site-wide animations, and auto-layouts. It introduces new capabilities such as Course Pages for online learning and improved e-commerce tools, including nested product categories and comprehensive waitlist functionality.

    Squarespace 7.0 while still supported, relies on individual templates with varying features and lacks some of the newer functionalities found in 7.1.

    Artful Squarespace by FASO offers templates for both version 7.0 and 7.1.

  • Artful Squarespace by FASO only comes with the Squarespace Advanced plan. We currently do not offer any other Squarespace plans. However, Artful Squarespace is a great value, even if you don't use all the features and functionality of the Advanced plan.

  • FASO has long been the leader in the artist website hosting arena. While occupying this place, we are constantly focused on improving the FASO platform to best meet customer needs. There are times this requires full scale system development from the ground up. However, there are other times this can be accomplished by partnering with a well established, reputable service provider.

    With this in mind FASO entered into a collaboration with Squarespace. The driving force of this collaboration was our desire to offer those artists who want more flexibility with their site design than what is currently possible on the FASO platform an alternative solution.

    By bundling our marketing resources with the Squarespace Advanced plan, we were able to create an offering–called Artful Squarespace by FASO–that allows artists for whom Squarespace is a better fit to still benefit from the FASO + BoldBrush artist resources and community.

  • If at the end of your Artful Squarespace by FASO 30-day trial, you decide that it's not a good fit for you, there is nothing for you to do. The site you create during your trial is not a live site, so there is nothing to cancel or deactivate. Since our trial is free and no credit card is required, there is also no need for you to request a refund.

  • Unless you are moving from Squarespace to Artful Squarespace by FASO, there is no way to transfer your site as there is no integration between Artful Squarespace and other website platforms. In these cases, your site must be rebuilt. Depending on your website platform, you may be able to export some or all of your site content to aid the process of rebuilding your site. Check with your website platform for more details.

  • Artful Squarespace by FASO is a better option if you want the ability to customize your site as it has a built-in drag-and-drop website editor, called Fluid Engine, that enables you to customize your site's layout–by adding, moving, and changing site elements. Fluid Engine is only available on Squarespace 7.1 sites. You can also easily adjust website fonts and colors with Artful Squarespace.

  • Yes, as well as some additional ones not available directly through Squarespace.

  • Yes! You can use Squarespace’s “Invite a contributor” feature. Click here to learn more.

Moving From FASO to Artful Squarespace by FASO

  • No, the site must be rebuilt, but FASO allows you to export artwork information and subscriber lists into a CSV file to assist with this transition.

  • If you can keep your domain - the transition is seamless for visitors.

  • Technically, nothing is lost, but the site must be rebuilt. You may gain features like e-commerce options and advanced customization. FASO allows exporting data to assist with the rebuild, but images and content must be uploaded manually.

  • Artful Squarespace By FASO users can hire an independent Squarespace Designer for assistance with rebuilding their site.

    Note: Launching a FASO site is typically faster and easier than an Artful Squarespace site. FASO provides a plug-and-play system, allowing you to choose a template, enter your information, upload your work, and launch your site within hours. In contrast, Squarespace functions more like a customizable website-building toolkit, offering greater flexibility but requiring more steps and decisions.

  • There could be depending on what FASO plan you're currently on. We advise that you visit the pricing pages on our website to compare costs.

  • If you’re switching, you’ll need to rebuild your site. Additionally, any eligible third-party services previously connected to FASO will need to be reconnected to your new Artful Squarespace By FASO site.

  • Artful Squarespace By FASO users will login and make changes to their website using official Squarespace tools, including Squarespace logins, apps, and site management features.

  • Artful Squarespace By FASO users are billed by FASO for their website allowing them to take advantage of special pricing and plans. However, Squarespace add-on services —such as Acuity Scheduler and Campaigns—will be billed separately by Squarespace.

  • Yes! Keep in mind rebuilding any site requires manual work, but the available templates make the process easier.

    FASO offers a plug-and-play system, allowing you to choose a template, enter your information, upload your work, and launch your site within hours. FASO also provides custom work and a Kickstart Service for paid assistance.

  • Yes, you can transfer your domain from FASO (or any provider) to Artful Squarespace By FASO. Support is available to guide you through the process.

  • Both - Artful Squarespace By FASO users receive ticket and email support from the FASO support team for questions related to their site, in addition to the standard Squarespace resources, such as FAQs, tutorials, and user support forums.

  • For specific questions regarding your account and plan date, please contact our support team.

  • No, the site must be rebuilt, but FASO allows you to export artwork Info and subscriber lists into a CSV file to assist with this transition.

  • Yes, you are welcome to do a trial of Artful Squarespace by FASO if you have an existing FASO site. You can start the trial from the control panel of your FASO account in just a couple of easy steps. Doing an Artful Squarespace trial won't interfere with your current FASO site at all. The trial site will remain unpublished until you decide to activate and publish it. Our support team is available to help if you choose to "go live" with your Artful Squarespace trial site.

  • If you’re happy with your current FASO site, there is no need to make a change. However, if you’ve ever wished for more flexibility or additional features, Artful Squarespace by FASO might be a good fit for you. Ask yourself, do you want or need:

    - Flexibility to customize your site design?
    - The ability to sell items from your site other than original art (e.g., merchandise, memberships, etc.)?
    - The option to offer online courses or workshops?

    If you answered “yes” to any of these questions, you can do a free trial of Artful Squarespace by FASO to see if it better meets your needs and preferences,

  • Yes, you can still participate in the BoldBrush Art Contest if you are on the Artful Squarespace plan. With Artful Squarespace by FASO, you get one free entry per month.

  • No, New Art Alerts are not available with Artful Squarespace by FASO.

  • Artful Mail can be used with the Artful Squarespace plan. However, since Artful Mail does not integrate with the Squarespace platform, there would be some manual work involved to periodically import your list of subscribers into Artful Mail.

    If you prefer to not use Artful Mail, there are alternate options available, including Squarespace Email Campaigns, Mailchimp, or a third-party email marketing extension. There may be additional costs associated with these alternate options.

  • The built-in Print-on-Demand (POD) feature isn’t available on Artful Squarespace sites.

    If you're moving to Artful Squarespace, you’ll need to connect an external POD provider (such as Printful, Printify, Art of Where, Printique, or Spreadconnect) using the Squarespace Extensions directory.

  • No, artwork uploaded to your Artful Squarespace site will not appear in the Daily Art Stream.

  • There is no site downtime when you move from FASO to Artful Squarespace. When you're Artful Squarespace site is ready to go live, our support team can assist you with pointing your domain to the new Artful Squarespace site.

Moving From Squarespace to Artful Squarespace by FASO

  • Yes, users can access lower pricing for Squarespace’s most advanced plan through our billing system without changes to their website.

  • Third-party integrations and extensions that you already have will remain in place and you continue paying for them through the third-party provider just as you do now.

  • Technically, there are no downsides. The upsides are that you gain access to FASO's art marketing resources (The BoldBrush Circle of Marketing) as well as a few other perks not available directly through through Squarespace.

  • Other than gaining access to perks and resources only available through Artful Squarespace By FASO, the only change is that you will be billed for your site through FASO, not Squarespace.

  • If you wish to leave Artful Squarespace By FASO, we will transfer ownership of the site back to the artist upon request. Contact support for assistance.

  • If your domain is already registered with Squarespace, no changes are needed. If your domain is registered with another provider, our support team can assist you with the transfer or connection process.

  • You can log into your Squarespace dashboard as usual.

  • When you switch to Artful Squarespace By FASO, ownership is transferred on the back end to allow us to manage billing and provide you with our exclusive pricing. This means Squarespace will stop billing you directly (except for any add-ons you choose to keep, which will remain under your Squarespace account). If your site isn't already on the Advanced Commerce plan, it will be automatically upgraded.

    Rest assured, you’ll still have full control—your site will remain in your Squarespace account, and you’ll continue to manage and edit it just as you do now. Should you choose not to renew, ownership simply reverts back to you.

  • For specific questions regarding your account and plan date, please contact our support team.

  • Both - Artful Squarespace By FASO users receive support from the FASO support team for questions related to their site, in addition to the standard Squarespace resources, such as FAQs, tutorials, and user support forums.

  • There will be no changes to the assets or design of your site when you move your Squarespace site to Artful Squarespace By FASO.

  • For existing sites, a quick ownership transfer process on the back end enables us to manage billing and offer you these special rates and benefits. Rest assured, you’ll still have full control—your site will remain in your Squarespace dashboard, just as it is now, with no changes to your admin access or editing process. Should you choose not to renew, ownership simply reverts back to you.

  • No, your site will not look any different when you transfer from Squarespace to Artful Squarespace by FASO. The transfer of ownership only happens on the backend; there are no changes to the appearance of your site.

  • Yes, you can still transfer your site to Artful Squarespace by FASO even if you are still in the process of building your Squarespace site. Contact us and let us know if you have an work-in-progress Squarespace site that you plan to transfer to us. Our support team will work with you to transfer your site to Artful Squarespace as soon as you're ready to "go live" with your Squarespace site.

  • The process to transfer your site from Squarespace to Artful Squarespace by FASO is very simple. Depending on your availability, we can typically complete the entire process in 2-3 days.

  • If you can keep your same domain - the transition is seamless for site visitors.

  • There is no site downtime when you transfer from Squarespace to Artful Squarespace by FASO. The only changes that take place are on the back end to accommodate billing, new benefits and pricing changes. Our support team will assist you with the transfer process to ensure that it's smooth and seamless.
